STC kit's, if available for your Aircraft, represent exceptional value when replacement of your existing Propeller is required. WCP represents and supplies Hartzell, McCauley and MT Propeller STC kit's.
Unfortunately STC kits are not available for every Aircraft but the coverage for these kit's is expanding and does vary. The kits normally come 100% complete, that is they include a New Propeller, Spinner Assembly and all the FAA approved paperwork to cover the upgrade to your Aircraft. In some instances, though rare, you may need to alter minor things or conduct a CSU change or modification. In most instances the weight and balance figures for your Aircraft do not even need altering as the kit's weight difference may not exceed the legal weight variance limits.
STC kit's have been released by the relevant manufacturers for many reasons. These include chasing market share, product improvement, covering gaps left by propellers that have been made obsolete over time, performance gains and looks. In most cases STC kits will improve the performance of your Aircraft and in the main take off and climb, vibration and noise level's are all bettered and improved upon. There are some instances where cruise can be affected but in the main most STC kits will NOT increase indicated airspeed regardless of what's advertised. Please note the term " performance increase " does not always translate into an increase in actual indicated air speed.
Other aspects of upgrading to an STC kit Propeller wise can also include cheaper initial replacement / purchase costs, reduced future operating costs, longer TBO's due to latest design and technology, less blade tip erosion, added value to your aircraft, better ground clearance and in some cases are deemed to improve the looks of your aircraft. Any kit supplied is the latest technology available regardless of manufacturer.
